Two cards are read as one sentence: the first sets the condition and the second says what is being done about it. The Empress and The Hermit together read differently from either card alone.
The Empress embodies abundance, fertility, and the creative force that nurtures all life into beautiful expression. She represents the mother archetype who provides unconditional support for growth and manifestation. This card invites you to connect with nature and allow creativity to flow through you effortlessly.
The Hermit represents deep introspection, spiritual seeking, and the wisdom gained through solitude and self-reflection. He carries the light of inner knowledge that illuminates the path forward for those brave enough to seek truth. This card encourages withdrawing from distractions to discover your authentic self and ultimate purpose.
Read in sequence, this combination describes a movement from The Empress towards The Hermit.
Combinations are read in context — the question asked and the neighbouring cards decide which reading is live.

Combinations are not read as positive or negative in isolation. What matters is the question and the position in the spread.
Usually yes. Read as a sequence, the first card sets the condition and the second shows the direction.
Reversed usually means the energy is internal, delayed or blocked. Apply that to that card only, then read the pair.
