Two cards are read as one sentence: the first sets the condition and the second says what is being done about it. The Empress and The Hierophant together read differently from either card alone.
The Empress embodies abundance, fertility, and the creative force that nurtures all life into beautiful expression. She represents the mother archetype who provides unconditional support for growth and manifestation. This card invites you to connect with nature and allow creativity to flow through you effortlessly.
The Hierophant represents spiritual guidance, traditional values, and the wisdom passed down through established institutions. He serves as a bridge between the divine and mortal realms, offering teachings that have stood the test of time. This card encourages seeking mentorship and honoring time-tested practices in your journey.
Read in sequence, this combination describes a movement from The Empress towards The Hierophant.
Combinations are read in context — the question asked and the neighbouring cards decide which reading is live.

Combinations are not read as positive or negative in isolation. What matters is the question and the position in the spread.
Usually yes. Read as a sequence, the first card sets the condition and the second shows the direction.
Reversed usually means the energy is internal, delayed or blocked. Apply that to that card only, then read the pair.
