Two cards are read as one sentence: the first sets the condition and the second says what is being done about it. The Lovers and The High Priestess together read differently from either card alone.
The Lovers represent profound choices, harmonious partnerships, and the alignment of values with actions. This card signifies a pivotal decision that requires following your heart while maintaining integrity and authenticity. It encourages embracing love in all its forms and recognizing the sacred bonds connecting us all.
The High Priestess represents deep intuition, hidden knowledge, and the mysteries that lie beneath conscious awareness. She invites you to listen to your inner voice and trust the subtle guidance of your subconscious mind. This card suggests that answers already exist within you, waiting to be discovered through contemplation.
Together the cards narrow the reading: each one rules out several readings the other would have allowed alone.
Where the two cards pull in different directions, the spread position decides which one is describing the situation and which is describing your reaction to it.

Combinations are not read as positive or negative in isolation. What matters is the question and the position in the spread.
Usually yes. Read as a sequence, the first card sets the condition and the second shows the direction.
Reversed usually means the energy is internal, delayed or blocked. Apply that to that card only, then read the pair.
