During the late shift the Dog’s loyal streak will have you staying until 7 PM to help a teammate finish the client deck. That extra hour will allow you to add three polished slides that illustrate the 2023 growth curve, a detail the boss praised in yesterday’s email. According to Chinese tradition the faithful dog gains trust that translates into a formal mentorship program starting next month. Your steady presence will be noted in the quarterly performance board.
Take a moment to thank a colleague for their support
You are in the empty conference room, city lights flickering outside, as the junior analyst sighs and you hand over a printed mockup of the new slides. The boss walks by at 7 PM, glances at the deck, and gives a brief nod of approval.
the Dog tends to bring loyal and honest to work, which is both the advantage and the blind spot. Most of what goes right today will come from leaning into that rather than fighting it, and most of what goes wrong will come from applying it somewhere it does not belong.

The common failure mode is simple: you wait for a certainty that is never going to arrive. It rarely announces itself — it shows up as a small delay that quietly becomes the shape of the day. The counterweight is to decide once, early, and then stop re-deciding.
Do this: Stand up, drink some water, and say out loud the single thing you want done. Then come back to the task that keeps sliding to tomorrow and finish the smallest honest version of it. 2026-10-04 is one day in a ninety-day rolling archive — nothing here is a verdict, and tomorrow's page is written fresh. Take the part that matched what you could actually see, act on that, and let the rest go.
2026-10-04 falls on the 辛亥 day (Metal 辛, a Pig day) — a neutral pairing with the Dog. That makes today neutral — nothing in the day pillar pushes or blocks the Dog, so your own rhythm sets the pace. On the practical side, finish the task that is already eighty percent done before starting anything new.
